Yet Another Day
Black box theatre work
in collaboration with composer Greg Giamougiannis
Drawing upon Camus’ philosophical essay The Myth of Sisyphus, this work deals with the absurdities of life, by constantly transforming ideas seeking a purpose and meaning which is never found.
“Yet Another Day” is following the same compositional structure for music, dance and lighting design, consisting of six unfinished episodes; six acts that are always interrupted by a single motive that takes everything back to a vanishing point, a point zero, leading then to a new beginning.
Four dancers, a flute quartet and four light-bulbs execute the Sisyphean ordeal.
Performed at THE PLACE Theatre, London, as part of Resolution! 2013 and at Michaelis Dance Theatre
as part of ROEHAMPTON DANCE FESTIVAL & ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC Summer Programme 2012
